Clay Guida's hair usually flies around with no impediment as he fights, but due to a request from Gray Maynard's camp, Guida had to tie it back for the main event of UFC on FX 4 on Friday night. It takes a lot to tie back a mane like his, and he shared what it will look like.

Judging by his face, Guida is not happy about the change in his hairdo.

Because there hasn't been enough written about Chael Sonnen and UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva this week, here they are in comic book form.

The UFC is producing a comic book about the two leading up to their fight.Silva, unsurprisingly, resembles Spiderman while Sonnen has elements of Captain America and Wonder Woman. (Before any of you think this is a slam, Wonder Woman is the coolest. If anyone besides Diana of the Themyscira could handle the Lasso of Truth, it's Sonnen.) Check out their Facebook page every day before UFC 148 to read a new panel of the comic.
It's going to be an eventful summer for Tito Ortiz, a man who was recognized as one of the most important fighters in the growth of the UFC when the promotion decided to induct him into their Hall of Fame. He will fight Forrest Griffin on July 7 at UFC 148, making it the third time the pair will meet. After that bout, Ortiz plans to retire.
"I've done everything," Ortiz told Cagewriter. "My body has taken the toll. (back injury, acl replacement) My body just can't train, and training is hard on your body, so I wanted to go out on my own terms."
But before retirement, he will fight Griffin. The pair first faced off at UFC 59. It was a close fight won by Ortiz and was considered one of the best fights of 2006. Griffin took the rematch by split decision at UFC 106. Though they've fought each other for six rounds, Ortiz said he still is studying Griffin because it's part of the job.
"Gotta do your homework. I've got to do as much homework as I possibly can. I see mistakes that he does," Ortiz said. "It doesn't matter that it's my last fight. I'm still pushing my hardest."
He was touched by the UFC deciding to make him a Hall-of-Famer.
"It means all the hard work that I did means something. I've worked really hard in this business for 15 years. I've gotten to succeed, to be very successful, at mixed martial arts in the UFC."
Because he has been in the fight game for so long, he has not had as much time to spend with his family as he would like. He has three sons, and is happy the next stage in his life will involve plenty of time with them.
"First thing is being a full-time father. Being with my kids every single day. I'm starting the second chapter of my life, and it's truly about family."
Follow Tito Ortiz on Twitter for more as he prepares for UFC 148.
Luke Rockhold will get a chance to defend the Strikeforce middleweight belt against Tim Kennedy on July 14 in Portland. The two have been pushing for a match-up, but not because they hate each other. They just wanted a good fight.
In fact, these two can't even be bad when they are being pushed into it by Strikeforce commentator Frank Shamrock.
One quibble, Frank. Rockhold and Kennedy's painting was not of Mother Teresa. It's Our Lady of Guadalupe, the image of the Virgin Mary who appeared to Juan Diego in Mexico in the 1600s.
Though they're both nice guys, they still match up for an interesting bout. Who will win? Speak up in the comments, on Facebook or on Twitter.
HTC is going on something of a certification tangent: it's following its PlayStation Suite approval with its own program, HTC Connect. Home AV equipment with the label promises to lift the standards for streaming media to or from one of HTC's devices. The rubber stamp will be limited at first to DLNA audio and video, but it should eventually include just about anything that doesn't involve a wire, such as Bluetooth, in-car media, NFC and wireless speakers. There isn't an immediate deluge of partners. HTC has scored a rather big ally, however: Pioneer's DLNA-ready receivers and wireless speakers this year, and beyond, will flaunt the HTC Connect badge. Don't brag about the media credentials of your One X just yet. Although the Connect seal of approval won't be needed for media streaming anytime soon, it will only be coming to the One series through an upgrade in the months ahead.

If you have a fight scheduled with Wanderlei Silva, you need to give your bones very stern instructions not to break. If they do go against your wishes and snap in two, that's disrespect.
Vitor Belfort is currently coaching against Silva on the Brazilian version of "The Ultimate Fighter" and was slated to fight him at UFC 147. A broken hand forced Belfort out of their bout. UFC president Dana White said Belfort needs surgery. Though training injuries are part of the game in MMA, Silva called it "amateurism" via his Twitter account.
"(Fighting me) with one hand (laughs)? We are professionals. It's a great irresponsibility not to be careful on training, a great disrespect towards the fans. I'm really sad. I'm ready to knock you out, you have nowhere to run. This fight is happening. I guess you got scared of me. Nobody trains so hard that breaks his hand. We use the best equipments, gloves, bandages.
"If you were scared, you shouldn't have accepted it. If you really got it broken, it's amateurism and if you didn't, you're scared. In both scenarios, it was irresponsible of you towards the fans. Pardon the word, but I'm pissed with your amateurism. A main event on the biggest event of the world and the guy shows up like that".
Strong words from Silva, especially considering that he has pulled out of fights with injuries. In 2010, cracked ribs kept him from the co-main event of UFC 116 against Yoshihiro Akiyama.
Ease up, Wand. As you well know, injuries are part of a sport that asks its competitors to hit each other as hard as possible. Hands and ribs break. Ligaments tear. Life goes on. Belfort has been in 30 professional MMA bouts, so it's hard to believe he's scared, or that he broke his hand on purpose to get out of this fight. And if he could have, wouldn't he have done that to get out of getting kicked in the face by Anderson Silva?

Though the Summer of Injury sounds like a story arc on a daytime soap opera, it's actually what the UFC has experienced as so many fighters have had to pull out from planned bouts. For example:
-- Heavyweight Check Kongo was supposed to fight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 149 in Calgary, but an injury to Big Nog forced him out of the fight. Kongo will now fight Shawn Jordan, who won his UFC debut with a second-round TKO of Oil Thompson. As of this writing, every fight on the UFC 149 main card has been altered because of injury.
-- Another heavyweight, Luiz Cane, was also smacked upside the head by the injury bug. Rousimar Palhares, who most recently lost to Alan Belcher, will step in to fight Yushin Okami at UFC 150 in Denver.
Some non-injury-related fight booking news:
-- UFC 150 added four fights, including Justin Lawrence vs. Max Holloway, Nik Lentz vs. Eijii Mitsuoka, Dennis Bermudez vs. Tom Hayden and Michael Kuiper vs. Jared Hamman.
-- Jeff Hougland will fight Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 151 in Las Vegas on Sept. 1. The card will be headlined by Jon Jones' title defense against Dan Henderson.
